AFTER SCHOOL ARTS PROGRAM (ASA)
Classes and activities for students Pre-K through 5th grade
Monday-Friday 2pm-5pm (August 28, 2023-June 7, 2024, following the DPS calendar)
ASA students will be supervised and assisted with homework and will enjoy artistic/activities/games
and are encouraged to sign up for age/level appropriate classes during ASA time frame.
Snack will be provided.

ASA students are supervised and guided through the schedule below during ASA timeframe of 2pm - 5pm. Snack will be provided. ASA follows Durham Public School’s traditional calendar and will be closed on holidays/teacher work days observed by Durham Public Schools. It will be open on all early release days. (Note: on DPS teacher work days, Walltown offers a "TEACHER WORK DAY DAY CAMP" from 8:30am-5;00pm. Fees for the day camps are not included in ASA cost and separate registration is required.) Registered students will be welcomed for drop off beginning at 2:00pm and parent pick-up is between 5:00-5:30pm. ** Parents are responsible for student transportation for any Inclement Weather Closings & Predetermined Closings** Each student is welcomed to participate in all activities with the understanding that students must adhere to the goals of our yearly arts programming. |
ASA Monthly Student Fees
Full Session (Monday - Friday 2:00pm-5:00pm) $250/month Day Rate (2:00pm-5:00pm) $75/month ***20% of the After School Arts Program fee is drafted at the time of registration, and then a monthly fee there after. Saturday Kids Arts Program
Saturday's 10:00am-12:00pm
Supervised arts and play activity Weekly activities may include dance/movement instruction, musical instrument instruction, visual art instruction, theater games, singing and more! Student Fees Daily Drop In: $20 Fall Session Fee: $200 |
CREATIVE ARTS INSTRUCTION PODS
Get highly personalized instruction for less when you share the cost with other families. Rates start at $250 per 5-class session ($50/class). Base Pod rate covers up to 10 students. Include additional students at rate of $15 per student per session up to 15 students at total cost of $325.
Typical pod instruction structure is either a one week session (45mn a day for five days) or a five week session (45mn a day, 1 day a week for 5 weeks)
You can choose POD instruction in one of the following focus areas. Each instruction program will be tailored to your pod's age group.
Singing - Whether just finding their voices or ready for focused development, we will get your POD up and singing. Depending on age/general skill level of the pod, we will conduct focused sing-alongs, group songs and/or parts singing call and response
Acting - Kids learn the fundamentals of acting in a fun, supportive and creative atmosphere. Through theatre games and exercises, students are introduced to collaborative play, the fundamental elements of storytelling and improvisitation
Creative Writing - Using an idea for a story, character, or poem, we’ll discuss simple steps to unlock the words waiting to be written. Formal writing woes will be creatively set aside, as we focus on content development, fostering discussions among students to learn from one another, and offer feedback and suggestions.
